Elana
Giordano
Elana began her yoga journey over 20 years ago while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia...
Fitness and spirituality had always been big parts of her life and yoga brought them together.
Elana chose her first career in behavioral health, working with different populations for over 15yrs with the goal of helping people improve their lives. Elana witnessed people walk away from drug abuse and crime and learn behavioral tools to cope effectively with severe mental illness. She watched children break the cycle out of poverty and neglect. Even still, she felt her toolbox as a counselor was missing something.
In 2014, Elana became a mom to her daughter Makayla. In 2016 Elana completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. The insight she gained during her experience about breath and body awareness, along with emotional self-care, were the missing tools she was searching for to help her clients. Elana implemented her yoga knowledge into her behavioral health world and taught at a prison for teenage violent offenders- the results were unbelievable. While unfortunately the funding for the prison was cut, the impact continued to last as inmates continued to practice in their cells and chose to work on breathwork in their own downtime.
Seeing the impact yoga could have on an inmate’s mind and body motivated Elana to pursue a role as a full-time yoga teacher at Lifetime Fitness. Teaching yoga also taught Elana more about balancing career and motherhood. Elana was chosen to co-facilitate her first yoga teacher training program in 2019.
In 2020 during the shutdown, Elana began teaching virtually and was able to learn about the impact a teacher could make through the screen. In 2021 Elana completed her 300hr Yoga Teacher Training virtually with Heart Yoga. Learning more about the yoga principles and the benefits of meditation made Elana even more excited to continue her work as a teacher.
Continuing to encourage students to improve their lives and the world around them through yoga is something that motivates Elana every time she steps into Vibe Yoga to teach. This passion is shared through teaching classes at the studio as well as co- leading both 200hr and 300hr Vibe Yoga Teacher Trainings. Today, Elana, gratefully co-owns Vibe Yoga with Heather. She pours her love into all studio operations and management, while passionately sharing the principles, philosophies, and benefits of
yoga through her teaching.
